Coast Guard Rescues Three Fishermen Off Cape May

By Al Campbell

CAPE MAY — The Coast Guard rescued three people June 12 who were aboard a disabled 72-foot scalloper boat 32 miles southeast of this city.
The Coast Guard received a call at 12:50 p.m. from a crew member aboard the Icy Bay requesting assistance because they were disabled and adrift.
The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Mako, home-ported in Cape May, arrived on scene and towed the boat and its crew part of the way, then transferred the tow to a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May.
The rescue boat crew towed the Icy Bay and its crew to Cold Springs Marina in Cape May.
