CG Crew, Good Samaritan Save Five Near Long Branch

LONG BRANCH — The Coast Guard and a Good Samaritan rescued five people Sunday, Nov. 2 aboard a 36-foot boat one mile off the coast of here.
The Coast Guard received a call at 2:35 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Chiokat reporting they were taking on water.
A Good Samaritan arrived on scene and assisted the crew of the Chiokat in dewatering their boat.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, arrived on scene and assisted the Good Samaritan in dewatering the Chiokat.
A Boat U.S. towing crew arrived on scene and took the Chiokat and its crew in tow.
