By Herald Staff

REED’S BEACH — Middle Township Police Department, its dive team and Middle Township Rescue responded to a call of an overturned boat in the waters off of North Reeds Beach at 4:43 Aug. 18.
According to police, four passengers of a 19-foot Carolina Skiff outboard motor boat were forced to abandon ship when it began taking on water.
The occupants, three adults and one juvenile, were all from Delaware and left a dock in Dorchester, Cumberland County earlier for a day of fishing.
Police secured the boat to a nearby bulkhead and notified the state police marine bureau, which responded and took over the investigation.
The U.S. Coast Guard was also advised. Sea Tow responded and successfully removed the boat. No injuries were reported, police said.
