Battalion Chief in Motorcycle Accident with School Bus

By Herald Staff

GOSHEN—A motorcycle accident involving a school bus injured Mark D’Amico, a battalion chief for Wildwood Fire Company, on Oct. 16. D’Amico was travelling on his motorcycle on Swainton Goshen Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. when, according to an unnamed witness, he lost control going around a curve and hit the bus.
Capt. John Edwards of Middle Township Police Dept. said the investigation is still ongoing and fault has not yet been determined. He confirmed that D’Amico and the bus were headed in opposite directions when they collided.
“D’Amico was hurt pretty badly and was flown out,” Edwards said. Responding to the scene were Goshen Fire Company, Middle Township Police, EMS and Rescue Squad as well as medics from AtlanticCare.
“There were two people on the bus [at the time of the accident],” Edwards said. The two individuals were the bus driver and a juvenile. Neither of which was injured.
D’Amico is currently recovering in Atlantic City Medical Center.
