Alleged Drunk Driver Impacts Propane Tank

VILLAS – On April 20, 2013, at 2:09 a.m., Lower Township police officers, Brian McEwing and Steven Flitcroft responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Colombia and West New York Ave. in the Villas section of Lower Township.
Upon their arrival, they located a 2007 Chrysler 300 series vehicle in the back yard of 248 West New York Ave. The vehicle struck a 1,000-gallon propane tank, which ruptured, and the vehicle was left running by the driver, Joseph Gegan.
The Villas Fire Company was immediately dispatched to that location. Additional police personnel and Villas fireman evacuated the area. The driver, Joseph Gegan, was subsequently arrested for DWI.
