MAHAN,
PAUL AND SUSAN
Paul and Susan Mahan, longtime residents of Cape May Court House, NJ, shared a beautiful life together, full of love, family, and cherished memories. Susan passed away on July 5, 2021, and Paul later joined her on March 26, 2025.
Paul and Susan made Cape May County their home for over 50 years. They first met one summer on the Wildwood boardwalk while working summer jobs, a chance encounter that led to a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they ran various stores in Cape May and Stone Harbor, most notably Christmas Island, The Playloft and Toys Ahoy. Later, they found immense joy in their antique business, Sparrow Walk Antiques, where their passion for history and collectibles introduced them to a wonderful community of fellow enthusiasts.
They are survived by their two sons, Tripp Mahan and Austin Mahan; Susan's brother, Herb Stone; and their three beloved grandchildren. Their faithful dog, Olive, was a constant companion and source of joy in their lives. Paul and Susan were predeceased by their son, Ely Mahan, who remains forever in their hearts.
Paul and Susan will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved them. Their legacy of love, dedication, and community will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to share in their lives.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family encourages you to use that money to travel, explore a new place, or take a trip with loved ones, as Paul and Susan cherished their adventures with their family throughout the U.S. and Europe. Alternatively, consider sponsoring a youth organization that provides travel opportunities for young people, fostering the same sense of adventure and discovery that meant so much to them.
