X Gamer’s Equipment Woes Continue

By Herald Staff

ASPEN, Colo. — Equipment problems stalled a local athlete’s X Games hopes for a second straight year.
Kevin Bramble, of Court House, broke a binding on his mono ski after landing a jump in the semifinals on Jan. 25. He won the qualifying heat the previous day.
Last year, a similar mishap pushed him from first place to fourth.
The two-time Paralympic champion took up mono skiing after becoming paralyzed in a 1994 snowboarding accident.
Bramble, 36, told the Herald in August that he plans to compete in the 2010 Paralympic Games in Vancouver, B.C.
As determined as Bramble is, this latest bump is unlikely to derail his chances at a three-peat.
