High school boys looking to learn how to play a new sport are being invited to join Jersey Cape Storm Rugby for its summer season beginning Thursday, June 11.
Jersey Cape Storm—the area’s first high school rugby team—will play in four seven-a-side tournaments through June and July. The club completed a successful first season of 15-a-side rugby last month, reaching the quarterfinals of the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union Div. II tournament.
The club is actively recruiting new players. No experience is necessary.
The first practice will be held Thursday, June 11 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at 80th St. and Dune Drive, Stone Harbor.
Practices will be held twice a week through the end of July: on Tuesday mornings from 9-10:30 a.m. and Thursdays evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. Any boy age 19 or younger is eligible to play.
New players should complete a membership packet, available on the “How to Join” page at www.capestormrugby.org.
Bring the packet to your first practice.
