Lower Cape May Soccer Sweeps Wildwood

WILDWOOD/ERMA – The Lower Cape May Regional and Wildwood High School soccer teams had an eventful afternoon and night on Oct. 11. The girls began the action in Wildwood while the boys took the rivalry match under the lights in Erma.
Taylor Magill led the Lady Tigers with two goals in the 4-1 road win against the Lady Warriors. Chloe Lawler and Tayanis Torres each added a goal. Jo Jo Gibson led the team with two assists on the day while Jenna Durbin added one. Marrisa Giancola made eleven saves in net with Torres briefly stepping in as goalie for a save of her own.
Maddie McCracken scored the lone goal for the Lady Warriors in the second half to prevent the shutout. Michelle Lugo and Nia Corujo combined for nineteen saves in the goal.
Lower Cape May improved to 5-7 on the season. Wildwood stands at 2-8.
Lower Cape May’s winning luck continued as the boys won 3-2 in double overtime over Wildwood in Erma.
Dennis McAllister scored off a pass from Kyion Flanders in the beginning of first half to give the visiting Warriors a 1-0 lead until Ryan Sincavage scored for the Tigers to tie it up at 1-1 at the end of the first.
At the start of the second half, Flanders assisted McAllister again to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead, then Pat Moore scored the equalizer for the Tigers, which put in the game into overtime.
Dan Cristelo scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime to win it for the Tigers.
Lower Cape May improved to 3-8. Wildwood stands at 4-7.
