Field Hockey
In Oct. 20 action, Lower outscored Holy Spirit, 3-1. Carrie Wunder, Kat Swan and Olivia Levin scored.
In Oct. 22 games, Middle defeated Oakcrest, 5-1. Jenna Herlihy scored two goals and assisted twice. Summer Herlihy, Hailey Murdock and Honna Hippen also found the net.
In Oct. 24 play, Ocean City downed Bishop Eustace, 4-1. Jordan Allegretto scored twice. Lauren McNally recorded three assists.
Middle stopped Mainland, 1-0. Abby Thompson scored. Annie Mallet stopped 12 shots.
Girls’ Soccer
In Oct. 20 play, Ocean City stopped Vineland, 5-1. Dara Hennessy scored twice and assisted once. Kristi Rohrer, Ashley Edgell and Devon Terwilliger scored.
Lower shut down Cape May Tech, 6-0. Maddie Gibson scored twice. Ariel Magee, Kaylee Devine, Jenna Durbin and Ashley Lamey scored.
Schalick downed Wildwood, 6-0. Michelle Lugo stopped 14 shots.
Cedar Creek downed Middle, 3-1. Abby Stahler scored.
In Oct. 22 games, Middle stopped ACIT, 3-0. Allison Hunter, Emma Stanford and Bridget Ruskey scored.
Holy Spirit defeated Wildwood Catholic, 8-1. Caitlin McMullen scored.
Ocean City outscored Absegami, 5-2. Veronica Garcia scored twice. Devon Terwilliger Dara Henessey and Olivia Briggs also scored.
In Oct. 24 contests, Ocean City stopped EHT, 5-0. Devon Terwilliger scored two goals. Ashley Edgell, Veronica Garcia and Dara Henessey also scored.
Bridgeton edged Wildwood Catholic, 4-3. Noelle Johnson scored twice. Gabby Johnson added a scored.
Clayton topped Wildwood, 5-1. Jillian Freeman scored on an assist from Mackenzie McCracken. Leishley Reyes stopped 29 shots.
Boys’ Soccer
In Oct. 20 games, Wildwood Catholic defeated Pleasantville, 5-1. Rakim Coyle and Sal Zampirri scored two goals and assisted twice. Jared Wallace also scored.
Middle stopped Cedar Creek, 4-1. Trent Canter scored twice. Zack Thomas and Joe Fala also scored.
Lower edged Cape Tech, 4-3, in overtime. Oscar Nunez scored twice. Griffin Crowley and Mike Holden added goals. Robert Edmunds scored twice for the Hawks.
Schalick doubled up Wildwood, 6-3. Jared Irwin scored twice and Valentine Rodriguez added a goal.
In Oct. 22 play, Middle downed ACIT, 3-1. Trent Carter, Joe Fala and Zach Thomas scored.
Wildwood Catholic defeated Holy Spirit, 3-0. Sal Zampirri netted the hat trick
Ocean City nipped Absegami, 1-0. Noah Spear scored.
In Oct. 24 contests, ACIT stopped Lower, 2-0. Logan Spicer stopped six shots.
Wildwood whipped Clayton, 9-2. Jared Irwin and Valentine Rodriguez scored three goals apiece. Olaf Feria scored twice. Kevin Santiago also scored.
Washington Township defeated Ocean City, 2-1. Tommy Matera scored.
Cross Country
Middle Township won the Cape May County Championship meet, Oct. 23, at County Park. Ryan Herlihy won the race in 15:58. Brandon Hadtke of Ocean City took second in 16:16. Wildwood’s Trevor Gentek was third in 16:31 Christopher Robison of Middle was fourth in 16:33. Patrick Cusack of Ocean City rounded out the top five in 16:37.
Ocean City won the girls’ County Championship. Devon Grisbaum won the race in 18:00. Teammates Rachel Stremme, Emma Bergman, Mackenzie Greene and Alexa Weber captured the second through fifth spots, respectively, for the dominant Red Raiders.
Football
In Oct. 24 action, Oakcrest defeated Middle, 41-27. Joe Durso and Eric Arenberg teamed up for two touchdowns. Zhiair Bland scored on a one-yard plunge. Jimmy Versage scored on a two-yard run.
Atlantic City stopped Ocean City, 14-0.
Salem defeated Wildwood, 48-2. Mikal Poteat’s tackle resulted in a fourth quarter safety for the Warriors.
In an Oct. 25 contest, Cedar Creek defeated Lower, 46-0.
Cape Express Scores
In girls’ U-8 play, the Showstoppers challenged Highland. Grace Murphy, Antonia Panico, Olivia Lewis, Maeve Farrell and Maddie Gilbert led the way.
The U-9 Wolfpack met TBAA. Ella Rulon, Brooke Nabb, Katie Mac, Sofia Sgrignioli, Ava Vodges and Ella McCabe led the ‘pack.
The U-9 Wolfpack also took on Marlton. Ella Rulon, Brooke Nabb, Olivia Sgrignioli, Kaitlyn McGuigan, Tessa Huber, Ella McCabe and Kate Grier led the team.
The U-10 Surf met Swedesboro-Woolwich. Hannah Price, Ava Southard, Bryn Dougherty, Kiera Schmidt, Ciara Dimauro and Eva Dimitrov led the team.
The U-12 Comets dropped a 3-1 decision to Delran. Riley Fisher, Stephanie Carey. Chloe Lawler, Jordan Dougherty, Carly Lashley, Rayona Wagner, Anna Bond and Kate Herilhy led the Comets.
The U-13 Herricanes were defeated by Millville, 1-0. Ruby Redmond, Tally Rulon, Alana Warf, Sophia Terenik, Lilly Springer and Layla Francis led the Herricanes.
The boys’ U-8 Hammerheads met West Deptford. Noah Stokes, James Papanikolaou , Elijah Ostrander, Tighe Olek, Eddie Hirsch, Joe Berrodin, Kelan Miller, Donnie Nelson and Chase Critchfield led the squad.
The U-8 Riptide met Mount Laurel. Simon Hardin, Matthrew Radzieta, David Delconte, Connor Rowlands, Landon Wallash and Bryson Keating-Horin led the team.
The U-9 Breakers handled Harrison. Noah Plenn, Gabe Schmitz, Deron Azille, Tommy Shagren, Kai Lindsay, Anthony Trombetta and Evan Shoffler led the Breakers.
The U-10 Blitz challenged Millville. Danial Kotb, Evan Merritt, Drew Nelson, Jimmy Kane, Andrew Barber and Devon Bock led the Blitz.
The U-10 Thunderbolts met Cherry Hill. Braden Borjakowski, Toby Worster, Riley Haring, Jacob Radzieta, Aidan Farrell and Jason Campbell led the team.
The U-11 Union defeated EHT, 2-1. Xander Hardin, Chile Adams, Ed Lord, Austin Carr, Mace Fiorucci, Tommy Carr, Brendan Davis and Ryan Turner led the Union.
The U-12 Force lost to Mainland, 3-0. Nicky Salfi, Trevor Tozour, Harry Springer, Jimmy Kurtz and John Leahy led the Force.
The U-12 United knotted Marlton, 0-0. Sergio Miller, Donovan Richardson, Colby Watts, Gavin Quinn and Braiden Scarpa led United.
The U-13 Railhawks defeated Washington Township, 5-3. David Gardner, Brendon Bartha, Conor Farrell, Onix Hernandez, Owen Carlson, Ethan Stokes and Sean Dougherty led the ‘hawks.
