OCEAN CITY – Renee Tomlin, 27, an Ocean City native, won the Tiszaujvaros ITU World Cup triathlon in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary July 10, according to a report in The Press of Atlantic City.
Tomlin finished the 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5K run in one hour, two seconds, according to the report.
This was the second career ITU World Cup victory for Tomlin, a graduate of Ocean City High School.
Tomlin, who now lives and trains in San Diego and Phoenix, entered the qualification season as a contender to land one of the three berths on the U.S. team that will be competing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but finished behind Gwen Jorgensen, Sarah True and Kate Zaferes, the report continued.
