Area Wins from the Week: Oct. 3-8

Area wins from Oct. 3-8 in field hockey, girls and boys soccer.
Field Hockey
Middle Township won 5-0 against St. Joseph on Oct. 3. Briar Lemma had a hat trick for the Panthers. The victory marked Head Coach Janina Perna’s 100th career win.
They won again on Oct. 5, 6-1, against Egg Harbor Township. Kate Herlihy had three goals.
Lower Cape May hosted Vineland and won, 4-0. Leah Jones had two goals for the Caper Tigers.
They won on Oct. 8 at St. Joseph, 3-0. Julia Cook, Katya Simonsen and Nina Young each had goals in the victory.
 
Girls Soccer
Wildwood Catholic hosted Pleasantville on Oct. 4 and won, 6-0. Marianna Papazoglou and Jersey Rogers each had two goals for the Crusaders.
Middle Township hosted Oakcrest on Oct. 5 and won, 1-0. Mia Rafter scored the game-winner off an assist from Nadine Coyle.
 
Boys Soccer
Middle Township won 3-0 at home against Cedar Creek on Oct. 3. David Gardner had two goals for the Panthers and Gavin Quinn added one.
Wildwood won 2-1 at Clayton. Will Long and Tyler Tomlin each scored for the Warriors.
Ocean City hosted Lower Cape May and won, 7-0. Hunter and Trevor Paone each tallied twice for the Red Raiders. Mark Ryan made 13 saves in net for the Caper Tigers.
Cape May Tech blanked Holy Spirit on Oct. 4, 6-0, at home. Mike Brown led the Hawks with three goals and Jacob Perez assisted three times.
Middle Township won 1-0 on the road at Oakcrest on Oct. 5. Gavin Quinn scored the game-winning goal for the Panthers.
Wildwood traveled to Pennsville and won, 7-1. Tyler Tomlin led the Warriors with three goals and three assists. Will Long also had a hat trick and an assist in the victory.
On Oct. 6, Ocean City hosted Eastern and won, 1-0. Fisher Hudak scored the game-winner for the Red Raiders.
