If you have a small bathroom that is challenging to use, consider these tips and a small renovation project to make your bathroom more convenient.
Vanity – Determine your specific needs for your sink. If you have a lot of toiletries and accessories, consider a small vanity with cabinet doors, shelves and drawers under the counter. If you’re somebody with less storage needs, a pedestal or wall mounted sink will give you maximum room.
Toilet – For maximum space around your toilet, the best option is to find a smaller one that takes up less room. If replacing your toilet isn’t an option, minimize floor items like scales, trashcans or free standing toilet paper holders.
Bathtub/Shower – Lose the shower curtain and add a glass door enclosure, creating the illusion of a bigger bathroom. If you’re budget doesn’t allow for that, consider a clear or lighter colored shower curtain, and install the shower curtain at a higher head height if possible to elongate the feeling of the room.
Lighting – If you’re lucky enough to have a window in your bathroom, let the natural light pour in for a bigger feel. If you don’t have a window, design your bathroom with lighter, neutral colors that mimic the feeling of warm, natural light. Also, use lightbulbs that emit a warm glow.
It’s easy to make your little bathroom feel large with these simple changes in amenities!
