Caring for kids
Is what it’s about;
Extending ourselves,
Even doing without.
At Christmas, God’s gifts
Are lifted once more.
That peace, joy, and love
Unattended before.
We seek these ourselves
For our comfort and hope
Oft’ forgetting kid’s “insides”
As they try to cope.
This Christmas midst glitter
And boom-boxes blaring
Add hugs, and be gentle,
Our kids need our caring.
