COURT HOUSE – Do you strain to hear when someone is speaking? Do you often ask family and friends to repeat themselves? Do you have difficulty hearing on the telephone? If so, you are not alone, approximately 36 million American Adults have reported some degree of hearing loss.
The South Jersey Hard of Hearing Support Group was created and is designed to bring together the people of the community who are hard of hearing. Members share strategies and tips for coping with a hearing loss. Guest speakers share information on assistive listening devices, such as, captioned telephones and headphones for the television where the user can control their own volume.
The next monthly meeting will be held on Wed., June 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Maruchi Room at Cape Regional Medical Center. This month’s meeting will feature a presentation highlighting the Caption Call Phone. The Caption Call Phone allows the listener to see written speech translation directly on a phone display. Admission is free. No registration required.
