Wildwoods Boardwalk 5K Pumpkin Run, 1 Mile Family Walk to Be Held Oct. 25

THE WILDWOODS — The 6th Annual Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run, a ghoulishly fun and exciting family event, will take place Oct. 25, 2014. A new twist to this fun run on the Wildwoods Boardwalk is that we will honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a new Pink Logo and tee shirts for race and walk participants. A $1.00 donation will be give to the American Breast Cancer Foundation from every adult registration from the 5k run and 1 mile walk.
This festive boardwalk event offers a 5K run and a 1 mile family walk, starting at 10 a.m. – rain or shine. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Wildwoods Convention Center, located at 4501 Boardwalk in Wildwood. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes to vie for the prizes in the best dressed categories of Family, Youth, Infant, and Best All Around.
The start line will begin at the Wildwoods Convention Center for both runners and walkers. The 5K runners will head south on the boardwalk to Cresse Avenue, u-turn north to 21st Street, then u-turn south back to the Convention Center. New this year there will be a focus on the students who participate in the 5K run. Special awards for 1st place boys and girls in following categories 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, plus junior high and high school along with the adult aged categories as in years past.
Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for those 18 and under with all participants receiving a Pumpkin Run T-shirt. The Pumpkin Run has raised over $51,000 which has been donated to Margaret Mace, Glenwood Avenue, Cape Trinity and Crest Memorial Schools.
