OCEAN CITY – Valentine’s Day will be here soon and Ocean City is the perfect place to spend the Valentine’s Day Weekend.
Michael Hartman’s Ocean City Theatre Company will present A Cabaret of Broadway Love songs and sumptuous dessert reception of Feb. 16 at the Hughes Performing Arts Center, 6th and Atlantic Ave. A really sweet time is guaranteed.
Hartman’s performers will provide some of the most enchanting, unforgettable melodies ever to grace “The Great White Way.” You don’t have to go to Broadway any more to enjoy Broadway quality shows. Hartman has brought them to Ocean City.
His productions with the Ocean City Pops and First Night, his many other shows here during the year, feature quality New York entertainers and have received outstanding reviews. Much of it’s due to Hartman’s producing, direction and choreography excellence and his show business contacts. You can always rely on an enjoyable experience from the Ocean City Theatre Company.

You can walk or bike the full length of the Boardwalk and enjoy the City’s latest attraction, the new 300 million dollar 9th St. Causeway that makes entering and exiting the City a scenic pleasure and easier driving experience.
There is a walkway on the causeway bridge that provides an excellent view of the City and a fine place to take photos. Yes, Ocean City is open and ready to serve and entertain the many who enjoy a unique family experience. Please pass the word.
Sometime this month the Army Corps of Engineers will be back for its regular visit to dredge sand onto our beaches and replace sand that was lost. At the same time, OCNJCARE continues its work to help those remaining residents who still need recovery assistance. (Feb. 21) The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold its Citizen of the Year Award– Outstanding Business and Beautification Awards Dinner combined with its annual Board of Directors Installation Dinner at the Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point. Social hour is 6 to 7 p.m., dinner 7 p.m.

(All through Feb.) The ART ON ASBURY Gallery, 608 Asbury Ave., has scheduled “Anything Goes” along with its annual ARC Exhibition and Sale. Entry is free to both exhibits which will feature an array of work by the Art Center’s talented members and a themed show highlighting Dogs by ARC Art Students.
A meet the Artist Reception is set for Feb. 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. You will be able to meet both the Galleries artists and ARC students. Entry is free and light refreshments will be served. Art on Asbury also offers free art based movies. The next will be “ Julia and Julie” based on the Julia Childs “Art of French Cooking” cook book. The movie is scheduled for Tues., March 5 starting 6:30 p.m. at the Ocean City Library, 17th and Simpson Ave.
Art on Asbury is a project of the Ocean City Fine Arts League.
(All through Feb.) The Ocean City Arts Center, 17th and Simpson Ave., is showing the photography of Macy Zhelyazkova. The artist is exhibiting her magical images of Bulgaria. A meet the Artist reception is scheduled for Fri., Feb 8 from 7 to
8:30 p.m.

The Ocean City Tabernacle has just released its schedule of entertainment events for 2013. Among the earliest are a March 21 bus trip to see Noah at Sight and Sound; a March 28-29 portrayal of The Last Supper, 7 p.m. at the Tabernacle and a trip to Washington. Race Information: Ocean City is aware that runners like to know well ahead of time when races are scheduled so that they may train for the events and emerge victorious or at least not embarrass themselves. Registration is already open for the following events:
Open Mike Night: The Ocean City Free Public Library, 17th and Simpson Ave.and the Ocean City Repertory Theater are presenting an Open Mike Night every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Library Meeting Room N116. The program is hosted by singer/songwriters Josh Wise and Robyn Rosenthal who will kick off the evening.
