Two very talented women on two special nights

By On Deck Staff

Cape May Stage audiences are in for a special treat as Sandra Hartman performs her musical cabaret They Say It’s Wonderful, with musical director Mark Yurkanin on July 25 at 10 p.m.
Singing a wide range of standards and contemporary Broadway tunes, Hartman explores love songs of all genres, written by Jason Robert Brown, Frank Wildorn, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and more.
This heartwarming cabaret has charmed Philadelphia audiences and is sure to cap off a beautiful summer night for Cape May theatergoers.
Then on July 27 at 8 p.m., famed NYC columnist Carrie Carmichael debuts her one-woman show You Never Know, about her quirky, New Jersey-centric, prepared-for-everything Uncle Eddie!
Cape May Stage audiences are sure to appreciate this homage to the Garden State, filled with humor and poignancy.
The Second Stage Series at Cape May Stage presents a variety of entertainment to complement the mainstage season in an effort to ‘keep the lights on’ at the Stage during traditionally ‘dark days/nights.’
Artistic Director Roy Steinberg’s aim to deliver high caliber talent to Cape May’s theatergoers every day/night of the week continues with the presentation of these two unique, highly engaging shows.
Audiences will love hearing musical theater veteran Hartman’s interpretations of classic songs and Carmichael’s hilarious, yet moving presentation.
Sandra Hartman is an actress and singer in New York who has toured nationally as Aldonza in Man of La Mancha and Mrs. Mullin in Carousel.
Mark Yurkanin is a musical director and pianist working primarily in the Philadelphia area for the Walnut Street Theatre and University of the Arts.

She broadcasts on the NBC Radio Network and WNYC Radio and has authored several books.
Both shows will be presented at The Robert Shackleton Playhouse of the Cape May Stage, Bank and Lafayette sts.
