STONE HARBOR – Trial on the Isle – part of the Philadelphia Flyers minicamp for player prospects – returns to Stone Harbor on July 8,, 2011. The day consists of a triathlon among all the players, including cycling, paddle boarding and running, followed by autographs and a fun-filled softball game.
At 9:30am, find a prime spot at the Stone Harbor Fire House for your first chance to see the players and training staff arrive in town.
The first leg of the competition will begin at 10:00am at the parking lot across the street from the firehouse on 96th Street. Flyers prospects will soar through the Stone Harbor streets on bikes, then jump on a paddleboard at the Stone Harbor Yacht Club. After the stretch on the water, players will take to the street running and head south down the beach to the finish line on 96th Street Beach and 2nd Second Avenue.
Starting at 12 noon, there will be a free Hooked on Hockey Clinic at the Stone Harbor Elementary School. From 1 PM to 3 PM players will sign autographs at the Stone Harbor Elementary School located at 273 93rd Street. Proceeds benefit Flyers’ Charities in their support of American Legion Post 331, located in Stone Harbor.
At 4:00pm, the competition continues with a charity softball game at 80th Street field during which the Flyers and their guests will take on the home team, the Stone Harbor Stars.
