Fralinger String Band is the most consistent top prizewinner in the annual Philadelphia New Year’s Day Parade—this year, they won their seventh consecutive First Prize.
Fralinger has played all over the world from Hong Kong to Hawaii to Hollywood, and three of their members have been inducted into the Mummers’ Hall of Fame.
Fralinger String Band will bring their talents to North Wildwood for two exciting engagements this summer.
The first is Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. at Lou Booth Amphitheater, Second and Ocean aves.
One of the “Concerts under the Stars” series, this event is your chance to hear the unique sounds and musicianship that garnered so many awards.
Then, on Sept. 12, they’ll be in strutting mode, showing off their expertise in Mummery during Mummers String Band Saturday in the Entertainment District on Olde New Jersey Ave.

4 p.m.: Strutters Contest—Anyone can join in. Let the Mummers show you a step or two before you let loose and dance!
4:45 p.m.: Fralinger (along with other string bands) will parade down Olde New Jersey Ave. in a summer reenactment of the famous New Year’s Day parade.
“People love the Mummers, and the Mummers love to entertain,” said North Wildwood Mayor Bill Henfey. “And what’s better than enjoying their music and strutting along with them on a warm summer evening—for free!”
