Cape May-Lewes Ferry Offers Tropical Theme Cruise Across the Bay

CAPE MAY — Got two tickets to paradise, mon? Not until you check out the Tropical Tuesday Cruise aboard the Cape May –Lewes Ferry! Grab a tropical drink from the Lido deck and get into the island vibe with live music and relaxation. Enjoy the views of the beautiful bay from both departure points in Cape May and Lewes.
Now through Aug. 20, the ferry will offer the Tropical Cruise every Tuesday. The departing time for the cruise in Cape May is 6 p.m. while the Ferry will leave Lewes at 4:15 p.m. for the evening cruise. Enjoy the mellow music of Jim Doran or the Ed Shockley and Friend Band.
“We want to bring a little island flavor to the Twin Capes area,” said Michael Porch, marketing manager for the Cape May – Lewes Ferry. “Summer is the time to kick back and relax. What better way to unwind than to take a ride across the Delaware Bay, let the breeze blow through your hair, and enjoy some mellow tunes and an ice-cold beverage. It’s definitely a ticket to paradise, and an inexpensive way to take the family on a ‘mini cruise vacation’!
The cost of this cruise is $19.00 for ages 14 and up, and $10.00 for children 6 to 13 – each of which includes a FREE beverage! Children under the age of 5 are free. For more information or to make a reservation, please call our Guest Services Center at 800-643-3779.

The Cape May – Lewes Ferry is owned and operated by the Delaware River and Bay Authority, a bi-state governmental agency created by Compact in 1962. The Ferry is open year-round and has carried more than forty million passengers since its inception on July 1, 1964. In 2012, the ferry service, which connects Victorian Cape May, New Jersey, and historic Lewes, Delaware, transported approximately 275,000 vehicles and nearly 1 million passengers.
