Holiday Events Announced for Thanksgiving Weekend in Greater Wildwood

WILDWOOD  Thanksgiving weekend is filled with holiday events celebrating the season in the Wildwoods. After stuffing the turkey, it’s time to stuff some presents.

This Nov. 28 through Dec. 1, take part in festive holiday activities with everything from tree lightings and hot chocolate to small business vendors and a few visits from Santa. Create new family memories this holiday season when you visit the beach for Five Weekends of Island Wide Holiday Fun in the Wildwoods!

November 28

TJ Hunt Memorial 5K Turkey Trot — Finish the fall season with a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K. The 2024 TJ Hunt Memorial Foundation Turkey Trot will be held Thursday, Nov. 28, beginning at the Wildwood Crest Pier, 5800 Atlantic Avenue.

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the race kicks off at 9:00 a.m. Registrants have two options for participation: a 5K run that loops from the Crest Pier in Wildwood Crest to the Wildwood Boardwalk or a 1-mile walk that takes place on the Wildwood Crest bike path. Participants of all ages are welcome to join, including leashed dogs. The cost of registration is $30 for adults and $10 for participants under the age of 18. 

After the race, all participants are invited to a post-race celebration at MudHen Brewing Company on Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood. Those who register for the Trot will receive an event t-shirt and a free drink ticket upon arrival to enjoy. All proceeds from the Turkey Trot help fund sholarships and efforts to help families that have experienced a traumatic event. For more information about the Turkey Trot and the TJ Hunt Memorial Foundation, visit www.tjhuntmemorialfoundation.comor call 609-780-4223.

Family Holiday Beach Bonfire — Bring a beach chair or blanket and enjoy a Family Holiday Beach Bonfire on Friday, Nov. 29 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in North Wildwood at 2nd and Surf avenues. Indulge in fun for the whole family, including music and free photo ops with Santa and other winter wonderland characters from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase. The donation fee is $10 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. This event is hosted by North Wildwood Volunteer Fire Company #1. The rain date is Saturday, November 30.

November 29 – December 1

Christmas in North Wildwood — Christmas in North Wildwood will take place November 29 to December 1, Friday from 1 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. Enjoy outdoor firepits, hot chocolate, festive lights, Santa, Christmas performers, a scavenger hunt, decorations, and music while celebrating the holidays in North Wildwood. The weekend-long event will be held along Olde New Jersey Avenue, 200 block of West 10th Avenue, 100 block of East 17th Avenue, and more. More information regarding weekend activities will be posted on the North Wildwood Business Owners Association Facebook page.

Wildwoods Holiday Shopping Village – Small Business Saturday — Byrne Plaza and Downtown Wildwood will transform into the Wildwoods Holiday Shopping Village on Small Business Saturday, November 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce presents this 5thannual outdoor shopping experience event for all your gifting needs.

On hand will be local artisans, jewelry, specialty shops, handcrafted items, holiday decorations, baked goods, boutique shops, the perfect gifts, holiday music and more. This event will also serve as a gift drop location for The Lynch Who Stole Christmas From The GrYnch Program, a toy drive for those less fortunate in the local community. Holidays at HenVille: Shopping Village — Wrap up the holiday shopping with a bow at the annual Shopping Village at MudHen Brewing Company on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This festive event continues Sundays, Dec. 8, 15, and 22. Enjoy entertainment for the entire family including hot cocoa, s’mores stations, caricatures, face-painting, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and live music in the Biergarten. November 29 – December 8

Wildwoods December Restaurant Week — The Wildwoods December Restaurant Week is a new addition to holiday fun in the Wildwoods. Enjoy a three-course meal from some of the island’s restaurants. Participating restaurants will offer a $40 three-course pre-fixe menu, tax and gratuity not included. Restaurant Week begins Friday, Nov. 29 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 8. If your favorite restaurant is closed for the season, purchase a gift card this holiday season by visiting the event’s website. Holiday Window Decorating Contest — Walk or bike by the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, and the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, 3306 Pacific Avenue, windows to view the creative and festive designs painted by local students.
