Firefighters Free Driver Trapped After Car Leaves Roadway

MARMORA – A car’s driver was trapped and injured after the vehicle went off Tuckahoe Road and down an embankment and into the woods on Wednesday morning, Jan. 8.

Multiple agencies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Wednesday at around 8 a.m. on Tuckahoe Road in the area of Butter Road in Marmora.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a vehicle off the road and down an embankment, with the driver trapped inside. There were no other occupants of the vehicle.

Additionally, a pole and wires were down and were hindering rescue efforts.

After about 15 minutes, the driver was removed from the vehicle and transported to a local trauma center by the Upper Township Division of EMS. AtlantiCare paramedics and the State Police were on the scene as well. All units were cleared about 9 a.m.

Agencies involved in the rescue of the driver included the Marmora Volunteer Fire Company, Seaville Fire and Rescue, Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Township Division of EMS.
