COURT HOUSE – Shore Orthopaedic University Associates is pleased to announce that Gregory V. Callanan, DO has joined the practice.
Dr. Callanan recently completed a Complex and Comprehensive Adult Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in adult degenerative spine conditions, acute and chronic injuries of the neck and back, spinal cord compression, nerve root compression, and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Callanan grew up in Toms River and received his bachelor’s degree from Monmouth University. Dr. Callanan went on to attend Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical school training. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Rowan University-Inspira Health Network. In 2022, he served as Chief Orthopaedic Resident. During his fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania, he received training from some of the top surgeons in the nation in the field of spine surgery.
Dr. Callanan specializes in adult degenerative conditions of the spine, artificial disc replacement, cervical disc herniation, cervical decompression, cervical degenerative disc disease, cervical fusion, cervical radiculopathy, cervical myelopathy, cervical spondylosis, minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preserving spine surgery, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar decompression, lumbar degenerative disc disease, lumbar fusion, lumbar radiculopathy, lumbar spondylosis, and lumbar spondylolisthesis.
Dr. Callanan is passionate about health and well-being. He is an avid surfer, snowboarder, and jiu-jitsu practitioner. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He is committed to helping provide exceptional patient care through personalized treatments centered on his patient’s individualized goals.
