The Cape May Point Arts and Science Center is pleased to announce Dr. Marilyn Murphy as its Acting Executive Director. With a distinguished career in education, research, and leadership, Dr. Murphy brings a wealth of experience to the Center, supporting its mission to merge scientific research with artistic expression.
Dr. Murphy has a long history of working with diverse teams to bridge the gap between research and real-world application. In her 23-year tenure at Temple University, she served as Director of the Center on Innovations in Learning, as well as leading multiple other initiatives, including the Institute for Schools and Society and the Laboratory for Student Success. She also managed over $8 million in federal educational funding, ensuring that research-based practices could be effectively implemented in education.
Now at the Cape May Point Arts and Science Center, Dr. Murphy is excited to apply her expertise to furthering the organization’s initiatives in marine, avian, and environmental research, while also enhancing its arts programming. “The people I work with at the Center are so dedicated and knowledgeable; they truly work with both their head and their heart,” said Dr. Murphy. “I look forward to contributing my experience in developing and implementing research grants to support and advance the Center’s important work.”
