The Cape May County Park and Zoo is the new home for two young bobcats from Arizona.
Born in June 2024, the siblings, a yet-unnamed brother and sister, arrived in March and settled into the former bobcat exhibit located in the zoo’s small-mammals section. Visitors can see them daily during zoo hours, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bobcats, named for their distinctive short “bobbed” tails, are medium-sized cats native to North America. The elusive creatures, primarily nocturnal, inhabit various ecosystems and are rarely spotted in the wild.
The addition of the bobcats enhances the zoo’s commitment to wildlife education and conservation.
The zoo is free and located at 720 Route 9 north in Cape May Court House, exit 11 off the Garden State Parkway.
