SEA ISLE CITY – Some of the best food trucks came to Sea Isle City over the weekend to find out which food truck was the best. The 2nd Annual Sea Isle City Food Truck Festival took place Sept. 11-13 at Kix McNutley’s, located at 63rd and Landis Ave.
Judges voted on four categories and visitors voted on the people’s choice award. Sea Isle City native business Marie’s Seafood won best entrée. Eat-a-Pita out of Philadelphia won best handheld. Shore Shake took home best treat. Five Sisters won best overall truck. El Lechon de Negron won the people’s choice award.
The people’s choice award was determined by how much money was raised at each food truck, and the money will be donated to the FOP Survivor’s Fund for the Philadelphia Police.
“We had some of the best trucks here and congrats on the winner,” said event organizer Denis Brown. “It was also awesome to help raise some money for a good cause while handing out the trophies.”
There were 20 food trucks and nearly 40 vendors overall. There was also live music and family entertainment.
Next year Sea Isle City will be the home to two food truck events again. Official dates will be announced on seaislecityfood.com.
