Calling themselves the “Wildwood 4 Change” team, political newcomers Steve Mikulski and Krista Fitzsimons along with Commissioner Pete Byron, have filed their petitions to run in the November Wildwood City election.
Both Mikulski and Fitzsimons point to annual big tax increases and deteriorating infrastructure as primary reasons for seeking office.
“While surrounding communities are seeing stable taxes, road improvements, beautification projects and increasing property values, Wildwood keeps moving in the opposite direction,” stated Mikulski.
As a local business owner Mikulski also wants to prioritize making the downtown district a vibrant attraction for locals as well as visitors. Fitzsimons, a Wildwood native, wants to develop a long-term plan for the city that will keep it affordable for seniors and young families.
“There’s a dark cloud hanging over our community and we need a proactive approach to breakthrough and move the city in the right direction,” sated Fitzsimons. “When I retire, I want the opportunity to continue living here, and not be pushed off the island by out of control tax increases every year. I also want the city to be more appealing and affordable for my kids to have the opportunity to stay here.”
Byron, who has been serving as a Wildwood Commissioner for eight years, said he needs a team to help him solve the city’s problems.
“For years, I have been a lone voice in trying to spend appropriately to keep taxes down and make essential improvements to our city,” stated Byron. “With the unique qualities of my running mates, we are positioned to make real fundamental changes to the way Wildwood is run. We will bring a professional approach to city government, that is accountable to taxpayers. We will also encourage input from residents and businesses that will make everyone’s voices heard and work together to achieve Wildwood’s potential.”
Vote for responsible, accountable and affordable Wildwood City Government. Vote the Wildwood 4 Change Team of Mikulski, Fitzsimons, and Byron Nov. 5.
Ordered and paid for by the committee to elect Wildwood Triple Crown RID PO Box 826, Wildwood.
