West Cape May Quilt Artist’s Work to Be Judged at Pennsylvania Quilt Event

By Press Release

WEST CAPE MAY – Quilt artist Beth Walls of West Cape May has been selected for judging in this year’s quilt competition at the 2019 Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza (PNQE).

According to a release, the event, produced by Mancuso Show Management, Inc., will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa., Sept. 12-15.

Following acceptance by the competition’s jury, Walls’ quilt, “Liberty Starshine for Frank,” will be displayed at the show along with other entries from across the U.S.

Winners will be selected at the show and publicized on the show’s website starting Sept. 12. Quilt and textile art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to view Walls’ quilt among the others exhibited at the event.

Mancuso Show Management President David Mancuso stated, “Quilts are sometimes folk art, sometimes very classic, and at other times modern, but all are truly works of art. The PNQE competition incorporates pieces from the best quilters in the country to be judged, and enjoyed by spectators and other quilt artists.”

Besides displaying the various quilt competition entries, PNQE will feature workshops and lectures taught by world-renowned faculty and a Merchants Mall.

In addition to the World Quilt Competition XXIII: On Tour, a collection of exhibits will be on display including pieces from the Pittsburgh Modern Quilt Guild, the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild, and the Central Jersey Modern Quilt Guild and more.

This competition is an opportunity to see the work of quilt artists from across the nation. For information, visit www.quiltfest.com.
