West Cape May Celebrates the Strawberry

By Jack Fichter

WEST CAPE MAY – The sweet and summery strawberry was honored and consumed in great numbers at the annual strawberry festival here June 5.
Some drank strawberry smoothies, others ate them with whipped cream and others enjoyed tarts, shortcake and chocolate dipped strawberries. Vendors sold crafts, art, food and T-shirts. Live music was provided throughout the day by Bluebone and Mark Jacopec’s drummers, making their 15th appearance at the festival.
A breeze and the shade of Wilbraham Park’s tree, newly decorated by the Salty Knitters, made for a pleasant day.
