STONE HARBOR – The Endangered and Nongame Species Program is seeking volunteers to install fencing to protect beach-nesting bird habitat March 20, noon at the Stone Harbor Point.
Fencing will last two to four hours depending on the site. The work involves pounding posts into sand, tying string and flagging between them and posting informational signage.
Volunteers should be capable of walking long distances in the sand, be dressed for the weather (it’s often cold and windy on the beach in spring) and bring their own water and snacks. Membership in the Division’s Wildlife Conservation Corps is required – submit an application now if not already a member.
Fencing will only be postponed if weather is especially bad (wind, cold and light rain will not be enough to cancel). If interested, e-mail Christina Davis at Christina.Davis@dep.nj.gov to register.
Cape May County – Inept, clueless, inadequate don't even scratch the surface of "NOLA's" police chief, mayor and governor, I cringe at the thought of two more major events happening soon, did you…
