Victorian tales begin again in Cape May

By On Deck Staff

The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company’s popular “Tales of the Victorians” returns for its 20th year.
Take tea on the porch of one of Cape May’s finest inns or tea shops, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors, like O. Henry and Louisa May Alcott, read by members of the company, all for only $10. Children are always welcome, and, like other East Lynne events, ages 12 and under are free.
Back again to perform are several ELTC favorites, including Stephanie Garrett, Lee O’Connor, Michele LaRue, Suzanne Longacre, Eileen Kirk, and Gayle Stahlhuth.
The summer schedule is every Thursday at 4 p.m., beginning on June 18, at a new location for “Tales,” The Butterfly Tea Room, located at 109 Sunset Blvd.
The first performer is Suzanne Longacre, who delighted last year’s audience with sea tales by Herman Melville, and promises to bring other stories by other well-known American authors this year.
Longacre’s credits include appearances in TV’s “General Hospital” and Off-Broadway productions of “J.B.” and “Green Pastures.”
