UPPER TOWNSHIP – The Upper Township Green Hornet wrestlers are used to taking their opponents down in wrestling matches, but this past Sunday the Upper wrestlers were taking down litter on Elmwood Ave in Marmora during their Upper Township Community Clean Up. “Our community clean ups are not only a great way for our wrestlers to give back, but they instill a sense of pride in our wrestlers for their community” said Coach Sannino. The Green Hornets have one more clean up scheduled this year, which will be Nov. 13th at the Chris Sack and Josh Fox memorials on West Sunrise Rd in Petersburg. Both Chris Sack and Josh Fox were OCHS graduates (2010) and were successful wrestlers for the Upper Township Wrestling Team before their lives were cut short in 2011 in separate motor vehicle accidents, one month apart.
Upper Township Wrestling will be holding registration for the upcoming season on the following dates:
*Oct. 22 at the Upper Township Rec Center from 5-7 p.m.
*Oct. 23 during Fall Fest at Amanda’s Field from 11-3 p.m.
*Oct. 25th during Trunk or Treat at Amanda’s Field from 6-8 p.m.
*Nov. 5 during all UTFA football games at Caldwell Park from 3-7 p.m.
You can also register your child at their upcoming, free, no obligation “try it out” practices Nov. 1, 3 and 10 from 6-7:15 p.m. at the Upper Township Rec Center.
