Our children are only ever lent to us. We never know just how long we will be able to keep them for.
So kiss them, cuddle them, praise them and hold them tightly. But most of all… tell them you love them every day.

Two months ago, the most dreadful, unbearable and unimaginable thing happened, and in an instant I lost my baby girl, Sadie Faulkner. We were both getting ready to go out to celebrate the Fourth of July and, of course, she sang loudly the entire time. She was a pretty damn good singer, and she did promise me that she would FINALLY try out for theater in her senior year. Now, there will be no senior year. Little did I know that when I kissed her goodbye that night, hugged her, told her to be careful and that I loved her, that I’d never see her again. Just like that. Gone in an instant. Since her untimely and sudden death, I’ve been so truly overwhelmed by the amount of love and generosity that we’ve received that I don’t even know how to begin to thank each and every person.
The best thing about it is that it made me realize that this community cares about and loves us, as evidenced by the hundreds of condolence and mass cards, flowers and gifts, to other things like people checking in with me, providing meals, offering to help in any way, up to the bigger things
like the unwavering support of my family, friends, Dennis at Spilker Funeral Home, and my best friend Father David Cregan, who hopefully got a message across to the kids with his sermon at Sadie’s service. Then there was the amazing voice of Kate Chew, the Go Fund Me accounts, Rita’s Water Ice hosting a Sadie day, the Women of Wildwood, Middle Township High School providing counseling, Wildwood Catholic’s car wash, the Anzelone family for opening their home for Sadie’s after celebration and everyone that donated to it, and the countless other acts of kindness – the list goes on and on…I’m simply overwhelmed and humbled. Thank you.
Sincerely, Patricia Conley Faulkner
