AVLALON – The Wells Memorial Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce that Baritone/Pianist Tom Baust will be returning to Avalon to provide “A Program of Sacred Music” on Sunday morning, Sept. 27. He will perform special music beginning at 9:45 a.m. and will participate in a service of Song, Praise and Worship beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. J. Scottie Griffin, D. Min. will be preaching.
Mr. Baust is a well known performer in the Tri-State area and has performed in numerous venues in the U.S., Canada, and overseas. Locally he has performed at the Ocean City Tabernacle and with the Ocean City Pops. His musical styles range from the Classics, where he has sung with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Opera Company, and numerous choral organizations, to the American Songbook of Standards and Broadway. He is in an increasing demand for solo programs accompanying himself on the piano. As a accomplished pianist, he is in demand as an accompanist and works at the University of the Arts as an accompanist and vocal coach.
He sings with the Philly Pops as a member of The Voices of the Pops Ensemble, was their first singing Santa Claus in 2013 for their Holiday Pops series and is also accompanist for their 130 voice Festival Chorus. He performs solo programs of composers of The Standards & Broadway, but also teams up with other artists under the umbrella of “Tom Baust & Friends.” He has recorded for several Music Publishing Companies, has several recordings of his own, and has a private studio of voice & piano students.
In his spare time he hosts an Annual History & Performing Arts Event the first Saturday in June 2015, marking his tenth year in a 210 year old Bucks County Farmhouse. See www.tombaust.com for additional information.
