Students Serve Up Honor, Songs, and Lunch to Area Veterans

COURT HOUSE — The students and staff of Middle Township Middle School (MTMS) will hear what it means to serve in the most honorable way – by serving one’s country – at the school’s Fourth Annual Veteran’s Day Celebration on Tues., Nov. 8 at 10:00 a.m.. Then, the students in the MTMS Band and MTMS Choir will perform patriotic songs during a special ceremony and others will serve lunch to the veterans. Guest Speakers include veteran and New Jersey Assemblyman Bruce Land; United States Marine Corp Sergeant Intel Officer Mark Higginbottom; United States Air Force Commander Air Force Security Police Agency John E. Killeen; and United States Navy Commander Father Miles Barrett.
MTMS Principal Toni Lehman, Ed.D., said the ceremony is “to honor those who have bravely served our country.” Honorary guests will include several Board of Education members and MTMS teachers who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Lunch, which will be prepared by the Bethel Commandment Church, will follow the ceremony. It will be served by the MTMS National Junior Honor Society, who also will provide dessert. A dedicated staff of MTMS teachers formed a committee who organized this event.
