STONE HARBOR – This summer, Joseph Steiger, 10, of North Wildwood, and Stone Harbor Elementary School, will join outstanding elementary school students from across the country to take part in a unique academic development experience.
According to a release, that experience will be the National Youth Leadership Forum(NYLF): Pathways to ?STEM, taking place for an entire week in June at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
NYLF Pathways to STEM is one of the Envision family of programs (www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Steiger was nominated to attend the forum by one of his teachers, Paul Gallagher, from Stone Harbor Elementary.
He was chosen for this honor for his academic achievements, outstanding leadership skills, work ethic and strength of character.
In addition to attending Stone Harbor Elementary School, Steiger participates in karate, tennis, boxing and wrestling. He also plays the piano and saxophone.
He is actively involved with the horticulture class offered at his school. In his free time he enjoys boating, jet skiing, swimming and spending time with his family. Joseph is eager to participate in the NYLF.
He will study CSI, Engineering/Robotics, and medicine. Steiger is looking forward to gaining the hands-on experience the forum provides. “As an alumni of Envision myself, I am excited for Joseph to meet, work, and collaborate with fellow high aspiring students from other cities and schools, stated Amanda Freitag Thomas, SVP for Envision.
