That was when the Sea Isle City Board of Education passed a resolution that agreed to shutter the school and send future K-3 pupils to Ocean City.
Pupils in grades 4-12 are sent to Ocean City schools as part of a sending-receiving relationship, according to state Department of Education spokesman Rich Vespucci.

On the same day the local Board of Education decided to close the school, Ocean City Board of Education passed a resolution agreeing to accept the students from Sea Isle City.
On June 6, the State Board of Education is expected to vote on whether to approve an expansion of the existing sending-receiving relationship between Sea Isle City and Ocean City to cover all grades.
