Cape Christian Academy
Former professional soccer player, Cape Christian Academy alumni and Middle Township resident, Matt Maher, visited high school chapel at CCA, October 8.
Recently released from spending nearly five years in prison, due to his involvement in a fatal driving accident while intoxicated, he returned to the school he attended from 1st through 8th grade.
Distributing a message of hope, centering on the theme, “Decisions Determine Destiny”, he talked to the students about learning from his mistakes and making better choices. He challenged them to use their life challenges for their good and God’s glory. As mentioned on his web site, “His life calling is to encourage others to cling to their faith and look for heaven’s purpose in the midst of life’s difficulties.”
“From the onset, Matt has dedicated himself to honoring the memory of his victim, Mr. Hort Kap”, speaking at other high schools and colleges, “to continue the call to find purpose in the unspeakable tragedy, holding himself fully accountable.”

Cape May Tech
For the fourth consecutive year, Cape May Tech Peer Leaders and Advisor KiKi Miller organized the Lee National Denim Day.
The high school’s Peer Leaders coordinated a district-wide participation on October 3 to raise funds to fight breast cancer. Donors dressed in every shade of pink and denim and for their contribution of $5.00 received a ‘pink ribbon’ pin or a donation sticker. Peer Leaders organize this event annually and this year topped them all, raising $923.00 in donations from students, faculty and staff.
All proceeds are sent to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
