OCEAN CITY – At a public reception May 6 for the artists and their families, U.S. Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo (R-2nd) congratulated Donna Park of Absegami High School for winning the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. Park’s ‘A Summer Day’ piece will be displayed in Washington for one year in the tunnel connecting the main tour route of visitors to the U.S. Capitol.
“I congratulate Donna for her ingenuity and creativity on display in ‘A Summer Day’ and I believe her piece will be an outstanding addition to the U.S. Capitol,” stated LoBiondo in a release. “The annual Congressional Art Competition encourages young artists in our communities, and I am pleased to again have my office participate.”
Second and third place winners were Paige DeVos (“Resting Warrior”) and Chloe Henderson (“Home Grown”), respectively. Both are students at Oakcrest High School. Their submissions will be displayed in LoBiondo’s Washington, (second place) and Mays Landing (third place) offices.
