MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College welcomed 121 inductees into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society May 4, in the Walter Edge Theater at the Mays Landing campus. Speakers at the induction were Dr. Josette Katz, interim vice president of Academic Affairs at Atlantic Cape; John Ortiz, associate coordinator of Middle States/New Jersey; and Courtney Rice, former Phi Theta Kappa Middle States Region New Jersey president and Atlantic Cape alumna.
Outgoing officers for the 2017-18 year were: David R. Smith, president; Orsalia Parasalini, outgoing executive vice president; Joseph Merlo, outgoing treasurer. It is the largest honor society in American higher education today, with more than 2 million members in the United States, U.S. territories, Canada and Germany.
