CREST HAVEN – A group of classmates from Rutgers University volunteered their day at Crest Haven Nursing Home by coordinating a “Day of Festive Fun” for the residents Oct. 24. The group had a great turn-out (over 20 residents) and spent time crafting and playing bingo. The residents’ enthusiasm was contagious and their creativity was impressive. Everyone played a part, and everybody was a winner.
Residents were rewarded prizes (blankets, socks, card games) and left with their own unique crafts (popsicle-stick made pumpkins and Frankensteins). They each painted a leaf which was added to the final project, a giant tree, which was assembled at the end of their day. This tree is on display at Crest Haven for everybody to see.
The “Rutgers Team” included Alexandra Martino, Ashley Rhea, Christine Sengco, Javen King, Alex Bernal and Kiara Valentino.
