AVALON – Voices of the Catholic and Protestant choirs from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. will be heard at St. Brendan the Navigator and Avalon United Methodist Church Sept. 11, 12 and 13.
For 33 years the Catholic Choir has traveled to St. Brendan’s Parish, Avalon. The Protestant Choir has, for five years, traveled to the Avalon United Methodist Church.
Cadets are hosted by parish and congregation families.
The Catholic Choir, which is under the direction of Meredith Elaine Baker, will combine with the Protestant Choir, which is under the direction of Craig Williams, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. at Maris Stella Church, 5012 Dune Drive.
Prelude to the Mass will begin at 4:30 p.m. Mass begins at 5 p.m.
The Catholic Choir will also sing Sept. 13 at the 9 and 11 a.m. Masses. The prelude will start at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. respectively.
The Protestant Choir will sing at Avalon United Methodist Church, 3344 Dune Dr. at 10 a.m. Sept. 13.
All of the services are expected to be crowded. Those attending are advised to arrive early to get a seat.
The public is welcome at all services.
