OCEAN CITY – Professor and youth expert Duffy Robbins is the speaker this Sunday at Ocean City Tabernacle, July 31. Robbins is on the faculty of Eastern University and travels widely as a speaker for youth and adult audiences. He always brings memorable illustrations, using the large screens in the Tabernacle’s auditorium to underline his Biblical messages. He preaches at the two identical worship services, 8:30 and 10:30 am.
Joseph and Sue Martin are in concert at 7 p.m. and provide the music in the morning worship services. Pianist Joe is best known as a composer, with over a 1,000 choral compositions in print. He will be joined by the Tabernacle choir singing some of his selections. Sue is the voice of The Little Mermaid and has appeared on recordings with Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians, the Disney World Singers, and on Broadway.
An informal song service, ranging from hymns to new praise and worship songs, precedes each service. Greg Field is songleader with Carolyn Lothian on the concert grand Steinway piano and Jeff Seals on the four-manual Allen organ. Paul Berges, drummer, joins on the upbeat tunes.
Child-care is in the Noah’s Ark nursery morning and evening and age-appropriate Sunday School is offered for children during the morning services. Everyone is welcome—come in vacation clothes.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week and next, is Vacation Bible School for children age 4 through 6th grade. All children are welcome, even if they cannot attend all six sessions.
Saturday, August 7, Roger Petersen presents the all-day seminar “Walk Thru the Bible,” a unique approach to learning the sweeping themes of the entire New Testament. Registration is $31 (includes the seminar book and lunch) and spaces are still available.
