DIAS CREEK – It has been a custom for the last ten years or so to offer a re-affirmation of marriage vows to married couples who wish to express their love and remember that special time when they were joined in Holy Matrimony. This is conducted in compliance with the Discipline of the United Methodist Church and its conference.
Our church is offering the same this year on Feb. 12, 2012 which is the Sunday proceeding Valentine’s Day. All married couples are invited to take part no matter what your church affiliation or even if not affiliated with any church. During the morning worship service the couples are asked to come forward and renew the pledge between them at their wedding. There is no charge to the couple; however, we ask that they attend the entire worship service that morning.
After the service they are invited to join with us for cake, coffee or tea. Certificates will be presented to the couples acknowledging the renewal of their vows.
Prior notice is not needed but appreciated by calling the church and leaving a message or calling the pastor at his home. Any questions can be answered by calling the pastor. Come and bring your family and friends to witness this momentous occasion.
The Dias Creek United Methodist Church has, since its organization, been a welcoming church in this community and continues to bring the Word of God both in word and deed. All who attend are welcomed by the pastor and the people. We are a small church which believes that all are God’s children and should be treated as equals. Families are encouraged to come and worship together. There is a special “Children’s Lesson” during the morning worship service which is understandable to children of all ages.
