BURKE, KATHRYN U., 92, of Cape May Court House, NJ, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016, ten years to the day after her husband Raymond M. Burke, Jr. passed. Born in Haddon Heights, NJ to the late Walter and Frances Cook Underkuffler, she moved to her parents summer home in Cape May Point seventy years ago. She met her husband while employed at Merchants Bank in Cape May city. Throughout the years, she assisted her husband in many aspects of dealership operations at Burke Motor Sales, but above all else, she was “Mother of All” to family and friends.Mrs. Burke was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May as well as P.E.O., the Red Cross disaster aid, and the PTA. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and volunteered at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment came from the time spent with her family. She was a loving, gracious, and grateful lady to all who knew her.Mrs. Burke is survived by her three children, Raymond M. Burke, III and wife Ellen, David A. Burke and wife Francey, and Kathy Burke Sellers and husband Steve; her five grandchildren, Doug (Jen), Mike, Katie, Andrew, and Ryan; her two great grandchildren, Mallory and Blake; her longtime caregiver, Mildred Varmah; and her nieces, nephew and sister in law.A private family service will be conducted.
