North Wildwood Police to Hold Operation Take Back April 30

By Press Release

NORTH WILDWOOD — The North Wildwood Police Department, in conjunction with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Jersey Division, will be hosting Operation Take Back New Jersey on Sat., April 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Officers will be stationed in the lobby of the North Wildwood Police Department where citizens can properly dispose of their unused, unwanted or expired medications.
The goal of this program is to provide citizens with the opportunity to rid their homes of those medications by turning them into law enforcement officials. Those officials will in turn dispose of the medications in a safe, non-hazardous manner, preventing these pills from falling into the hands of our children or drug traffickers.
This program is anonymous; therefore, all efforts will be made to protect the anonymity of individuals disposing of medications. No questions or requests for identifications will be made.
Medications being disposed of in its original container should have the prescription label removed if it contains any personal identifying information. Liquid products, such as cough medicine, should remain sealed in their original container, ensuring that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Syringes or any other sharp instruments will not be accepted.
