COURT HOUSE – Thirty-one Middle Township High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society at a candlelight ceremony at the Performing Arts Center.
They qualified for National Honor Society recognition by maintaining at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 at the beginning of their junior year. To retain that prestigious membership they must perform 20 hours of community service per year as well as submit an essay about character. The community service hours include tutoring, volunteering at community events and individual service projects.
Each year, the group in its entirety performs one field day project in June at Elementary School Number One, and throughout the year there are individual commitments such as challenger soccer, county disability awareness day and Stone Harbor Island Holiday, among others.
They were formally installed at The PAC ceremony by high school principal Frank Riggitano and the guest speaker was Dr. Toni Lehman, director of curriculum. Kelly Lasher, library media specialist,organized the program.
The honored students are Giovanni Berardis, Abri Bostard, Elizabeth Bostard, William Bright, Teran Broadnax, Stephen Burner, Reese Canter, Gabriella Caraballo, John Carlson, Jacob Cooper, Maddison Deane, Garrett DiPalantino, Bridget Donohue, Tamara Farrow, Nicholas Gibboni, Catherine Giulian, Emma Guinane, Thomas Jefferson, Catherine-Brie Knoll, Sofia Lomax, Victoria London, Andrew Ludman, Julia Mallett, Augostina Mallous, Suzanne McInnes, Ryan Nagle, Edward Proud, Stephanie Sawyer, Timothy Sawyer, Logan Thomas and Alanna Warf.
