By Press Release

VILLAS – Lower Township residents are invited to a community beach cleanup May 12.
Councilman Roland Roy said that he was motivated to start a beach-clean initiative after living and working in the township for a number of years and frequently encountering trash along the bay beaches.
The community beach cleanup is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the David Douglass Park, located on the canal next to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry grounds. The beach clean is also being sponsored by the Lower Township Historical Commission, which will be providing trash bags, gloves, and safety vests.
The cleanup will run from 9 a.m. until noon. Filled bags of trash will be placed at the street ends in garbage bags where they will be picked up by public works.
Those with additional questions can contact Judy Gillis at (609) 780-3156 or Linda Thomas at (609) 884-0898 x15.
