Street Renamed in Vasser's Memory

WEST CAPE MAY – West Cape May Mayor Pamela Kaithern, third from right, joins family members of the late Mayor John A. “Jack” Vasser Jr. June 17 at the renaming and dedication of Green Street as John A. Vasser Jr. Way in his memory.
Vasser was the county’s first African-American mayor and served the borough from 1973 to 2001 as commissioner and from 1977 as mayor.
Over 40 members of the Vasser family attended the 6 p.m. ceremony to celebrate the occasion.
